Ideas & Actions

We believe that this Board have the ability to find the resources and identify the existing facilities or school building(s) that may be available in the market which in return can be utilized as Islamic Schools in the Ottawa area. Muslim population is growing while a few Islamic Schools that currently exit would not be able meet the needs of the Muslim community.

As an umbrella organization of the Ottawa Muslim community, it will pursue additional Islamic schools to meet community demand as well as collaborate with the existing Islamic Schools contingent upon adequate financial support from the community.

Under the guidelines of Islamic School Board, Muslims Educators, Administrators and Community Leaders will be fully equipped to support the Education Committee to develop and follow the Islamic Education Curricula in conjunction with the Ontario Ministry of Education to dynamically promote Islamic values and Muslim Identity.

Current Situation of Islamic Education

Our community, like many others, is experiencing a growing demand for Islamic education that caters to the unique needs of our children. Presently, we have a handful of Islamic schools in Ottawa, each striving to provide a solid foundation in Islamic teachings.

However, it is evident that these existing schools fall short of meeting the surging demand. Long waiting lists, limited capacity, and financial constraints have left many families without the means to provide their children with the quality Islamic education they seek and deserve.
